Much Better

I feel that this blog has been sick for some time what with the deluge of comment and referrer spam. In addition, there have some sticky details that have been causing that itch in the back of my throat for some time. With a few minutes to spare, I healed my blog’s wound quite nicely. Here is a short list of the things I fixed this morning:

• Upgraded to the latest Textile 2 plugin
• Upgraded to the latest Spaminator plugin
• Installed the AuthImage plugin (requires entering series of letters/numbers to post comment)
• Fixed edit-post.php and edit-post-advanced.php to NOT include the QuickTag buttons, as they slowed Safari to a crawl!

• Fixed a minor display problem with the border around the comment form fields (still need to check it in other browsers)

  I am still investigating how to deal with the referrer spam. As I have low visitor stats, this is not a huge problem, but it is annoying nonetheless when I look at my shortstats. Here are some solutions I will be looking at: one, two, and three.
