Med School Secondaries Rolling In
My short-lived break from being hit from all angles (house remodeling, school, teaching, work, and medical school applications) has come to an abrupt halt, as my email box informed me that secondaries are due very soon for several schools—October 12 on one of them! I will be off to work on those this weekend. By the way, my favorite school in the batch of ten that I selected is one of the three initial secondaries, and a huge smile appeared on my face upon seeing it.
Here I thought my first 13-credit semester was going to be my easiest yet (after taking 19 and 18 credits the fall and spring semesters last year, respectively), but reality shows this not to be the case whatsoever. My fifth and final year is an avalanche of work despite my closeness to the end. But life is an experience, not an end, so I will enjoy it as well as I can.
I would like to end this post with a descriptor of this fifth year here at UNR. People like to ask what year I am, and I often say either “fifth year” or “fifth year senior.” But someone referred to it as my “victory lap,” and I love that description. A perfect mix of humor that details this year.
Have a good Wednesday.
