iPod!
I picked up my iPod yesterday from the bookstore. As with all of Apple’s product packaging, (referred to by some as Apple packaging porn) , the iPod looks as good as the box. (Or is it the other way around?) Anyway, I plugged it in, affectionately named it laVoix (the voice en français, no space intentional), and loaded up my music. As I listened to my music, lounging in my chair, serenity took hold.
In my naming of all my computer gizmos, I always choose french words that represent some aspect of the devicc. For instance, my iBook was bought on a whim while I was in France, hence it became maLubie (my crazy idea). My brother, Cory, who lives in Colorado, has a dual 1.25 GHz G4 that is known as allonsY. There’s assezLoin (relative’s 17” iMac), unSon (Airport Express), unTruc (17” iMac). My previous iPod was known as lOrchestre. Why no spaces? Well, it saves a lot of time when you are navigating the shell not to have to encapsulate paths in quotes. Plain and simple.
Rest in peace, lOrchestre. I curse your new owner, but I wish you well on your journeys.
