Changed My Mind
I started to write a bit about my experiences with the anatomy dissection team today, as we started dissecting two cadavers. Alas, I did not have the heart to subject my readers to the graphic details and my feelings surrounding the experience. I will say, however, that the human body is extremely fascinating, diverse, but still fragile. For one, I am not quite sure how to put some of my thoughts to words at the moment, so I leave you there, hanging if you will.
I do need to review my anatomy from last year, as I am a bit rusty on the details of the muscles, our next foray in the lab after we administer lab practical next week. That exam will cover the integumentary system, the axial and appendicular skeleton (including the skull in detail), joints, and basic histology.
For the initiated, here are the bones found in your lower appendicular skeleton (pictured):
- Coxal bone
- Femur
- Fibula
- Tibia
- Metatarsals
- Phalanges
- Tarsals
- Fibula
- Patella
- Pelvic girdle
