Construction Update
Yesterday, I “floated some mud” (a technical phrase, for sure) and laid the whole tiles for a job I have been working. It is pretty easy, but after six hours straight, my knees hurt like hell. Today, I move on to the tile saw and finish around the edges, and if I make good progress, I will be able to finish the grouting tomorrow. Whew.
At my house, the general contractor has finished with the hardwood floors and should start moving onto the baseboards, which I painted last week. I need to pain my room sometime before the window guys come out to install my shutters. Then, we need to go through the whole house and replace all light fixtures and power outlets (old ones do not match new wall colors). The last big thing (I hope), is the bathrooms, which I will tile with travertine and place heating mats underneath to give that warm, toasty feeling when you step out of the shower or wake up in the morning.
For those who want to see some of this action first hand, check out my timelapse movies on the fun page. There are a couple that deal with my construction jobs around the house.
